The computer-based software allows instructors to instantly tailor faults to test a student's weaknesses and turn them into strengths. The troubleshooting skills taught by FaultPro allow students to solve real-world problems they'll encounter on the job.

The faults used are electronically-controlled circuits located in the hardware of Amatrol's troubleshooting training systems. When inactive, the circuits allow the systems to operate normally. When activated, however, the circuits insert "failures" into the system, preventing it from operating properly and allowing students to experience a realistic troubleshooting scenario with real-world equipment.
